I personally asked to write this article because I've fallen victim to favorite COVID-19 bad habits. One of those is eating fast food when you don't even have to leave the house.

I'm a Sonic fan for life! Yes, I just said that Boise. Why? Because there is so much to choose from and it tastes so good. Idaho has my back according to a new poll.

Each state was asked which fast food place COVID-19 had you choose the most. Sonic was almost universal across the country including Idaho. Think about why though. You can drive-up to Sonic, park-like you're out a drive-in (which are coming back in popularity) and be pretty much confined to a dinner out without going inside. Your chances of contracting the coronavirus go down right?

Look at the ones to follow in which are throwback spots. Does this mean we're going to our comfort spots?

  • Sonic (14)
  • McDonald's (8)
  • Taco Bell )10)
  • Wendy's (9)
  • Chic-fil-a (3)

What do all these have in common? All but one are pretty specific to food types. Sonic is the only one I think that gives you that really good range of everything which takes away the arguments for who wants what. Plus, Sonic's food is just damn good.

Here's the finding for the top 5 in Idaho.

  1. Sonic
  2. Burger King
  3. Subway
  4. Taco Bell
  5. McDonald's

All this information was compiled by Top Data from Topagency.com. I know we have our favorites like spots like Big Jud's and the list goes on. Obviously, we still love what is familiar in times like these where so much is uncertain. We gravitate towards what is certain, fast food.

Cynthia Martinez is writing for Top Data and she makes a great point. Gluten-free, vegan meals and fresh food options have dominated our options heading into 2020. Has COVID-19 actually taken us back in time to what's most familiar to all of us? You be the judge. What was your last fast food destination? Mine was Sonic.
