Let me be clear, I love my body. She has done some impressive things over the years, including growing and birthing two children. I appreciate every curve, scar, roll, and stretch mark. But I am in the business of improving my health, which sometimes presents visual markers such as weight loss and muscle tone.

Newly back on my health and fitness grind, I have yet to see a change on the scale but I'm not worried about that. What I have noticed and couldn't be happier about is that I'm sleeping better, have more energy, and my thought process is clearer. I can attribute that to the incorporation of more greens in my diet, the decrease in consumption of processed foods, the increase in water consumption, and commitment to being active for at least half an hour a day.

I'd be lying if I said the toning and weight loss results don't give me any boost of confidence, but slow sustainable progress is the goal. Sure, I could crash diet and look a little better in my clothes, but that doesn't boost my long term health. So I'll keep at it at whatever pace feels comfortable and always remember that indulging here and there is just balance.
