Owyhee County Couple Charged After Chaining Boys Inside Trailer

Not much causes more anger in me than child abuse. What happened to these young boys is disturbing and I'm so glad these "parents" have been caught. 

33-year-old Duncan and 38-year-old Melissa Transue stand accused of locking their 10 and 12-year-old sons inside a camping trailer without electricity, food, or water. The couple is each facing four counts of felony injury to a child.

According to an article on KTVB, court documents say that Melissa Transue carried out most of the abuse, while her husband Duncan did nothing to stop her.

It is unknown how long the boys were locked and/or chain inside the trailer. In addition to the captivity the 12-year-old son was hit in the mouth so hard he started bleeding and he was choked until he passed out an hit his head.

Oddly enough, this story starts back in December of 2018 with a kidnapping case in which Melissa was the victim. She says 36-year-old convicted sex offender Chancy Lee Baker locked her up in a barn for eight-days. Baker killed himself in prison in September before he ever went to trial.

Duncan and Melissa Transue are sitting in the Owyhee County Jail. The couple is facing up to ten years in prison.
