Dear Mike,
My boyfriend of four years has suddenly asked that we live separately after living together for three and a half years. He doesn’t want to break up. He said his feelings haven’t changed about me but he wants his “individuality” and wants to “date” me.
This has come out of no where. We are in our late 40s and have had past marriages.

 

We have an agreement that we won’t get married, but be together kinda like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell thing.

I understand that they also live apart together. It’s so strange to me.

 

My instincts are telling me that it’s time to move on but there’s a part of me that thinks it might be really good for us.
