What was one of the worst fires in the Treasure Valley in the last few years, the Table Rock fire captivated us in early summer. The question though for the last few months has always been, who started that darn fire. Today Boise Police, and the City of Boise have their answer. 19 year old Taylor Kemp has been cited as the man who caused the fire that burned more than 2,600 acres in June. Kemp says that he was up on Table Rock with a few friends letting off some illegal fireworks when the brush took a blaze and the wind picked up and created a massive brush fire. The City says it will only go after a fine of $1000 bucks and a possibility of 6 months of jail time. Between $150,000 and $250,000 was spent on resources to fight the fire.

According to KTVB.com Ada County code bans all fireworks in the Foothills and other area that constitute a "severe fire threat" between June 1 and Oct. 31. KIVI News Channel 6  reported that The Ada County Sheriff's Office says they interviewed Kemp the morning of June 30 — before he admitted what happened when detectives interviewed him for a second time in late August. Moral of the story is...DO NOT EVER PLAY WITH FIREWORKS in the Boise Foothills. It just doesn't make sense. It just makes me so angry lol. - JD
