The Boise Depot Celebrates Turning 92 with a Piece of American History
The Boise Depot is turning 92! To celebrate, a piece of American History, Union Pacific’s “Living Legend” No. 844 steam locomotive will travel more than 1,600 miles from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Boise and back again. It’s the last of its kind built for Union Pacific Railroad in 1944. It was never officially “retired” and continues to make public appearances at special events.
It will show up at the Boise Depot in the late afternoon on Saturday, April 22, and be part of a community celebration on Sunday.
Join the celebration of the Boise Depot’s 92 years on Sunday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be free tours at noon and 2 p.m. The tours are free, but you need to reserve your spot online HERE!
Kids and train enthusiasts will love the model trains and vintage cars that will also be on display! Sweet Pinkin's will even be there selling comfort food!
