February 12, 2016, is the day I asked my wife to marry me. That's right! Today is five years since I popped the big one! Fast forward and here we are, with our second child and number three on the way. I don't know how that happened!

My proposal wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team at Simmons Fine Jewelry here in Boise. I worked with them behind the scenes to set up the perfect moment for my wife.

It all began with a Boise Bachelor promotion that we started on-air. The goal with to find some single guys and invite girls to come down and meet potential bachelors. There were several single girls that showed with possible guys. I proposed in the end as a surprise. That wasn't the original plan though, insert Train.

I had this thing planned like something out of a video. The social stats would have been through the roof! Train headlined at Boise Music Festival back in 2014 and the plan was to be unveiled during their song, "Marry Me." This was going to be perfect! Then, she got pregnant. I didn't want it to look like I was proposing just because we had a baby on the way.

To think I had Pat Monahan from Train on board. Instead, we had a baby on board. She obviously said yes and everything went off perfectly. It was cool to have it at Simmons Fine Jewelry and was still a surprise (I somehow think she knew something.)

So, here we are almost three kids later, and couldn't be happier. It was the proposal that could have been, but I still got the answer I wanted!
