Prepping To Live In A Semi Truck For 12 Days
The 12 Days of ChristMIX Toy Drive starts THIS THURSDAY! As I get ready to camp out in the back of a semi truck trailer, I'm excited, and a bit nervous...
I've never camped overnight more than one night in my entire life. In this case, I'll be camping in the back of a semi truck trailer which I suppose will be good in terms of wind and rain and snow, but there's not much escaping the blistering night time cold I'll face in the parking lot at The Village at Meridian starting Thursday.
We'll have heaters for the volunteers and of course I'll have an electric heater of sorts in the truck. I'll wear long John's and the whole bit but I will admit, it's a bit intimidating facing that sort of cold for such a prolonged period of time. But that's the whole point! I'm no brave camping man by any means, but I want to make some noise. I want to make some noise for the people who have had a rough year and perhaps don't feel like shouting from the rooftop themselves. I want to make some noise for the kids of the Treasure Valley who are simply victims of circumstance. And I want every family in the Treasure Valley to have a Merry Christmas, and moment of escape from an otherwise insufferable year.
We'll start Thursday, collecting toys, bikes, cash and gift cards for kids and teens here in the Treasure Valley. We'd love to have you donate, and we'd love to have you volunteer if you've got the time. And if you find yourself in need of help this year, reach out. Let's do this together and kick off 2021 on a better note!
