Free Root Beer Floats Today in the Treasure Valley
If you're just having a mediocre Monday it's about to get a whole lot better as across the country we are celebrating National Root Beer Float Day. I had no idea that on August 6th was all about a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a frosty mug willed with frothy delicious root beer.
When first created the root beer float was known as the "Black Cow" first invented by Frank J. Wisner of Cripple Creek, Colorado back in August of 1893. It was an immediate hit with all kids in the area just as soon as it was introduced to them.
Obviously the best way to celebrate this iconic day is to grab some ice cream and root beer and make up a big ol' treat for yourself. Although if you don't want to put in the work A&W locations across the country are offering a FREE small Root Beer Float today only from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with no purchase necessary.
