Boise’s Skating Crowd Can Look Forward To A New Park
The Skateboarding community in Boise is about get a new skate park in Downtown Boise just blocks away from Simplot's massive JUMP structure. The hope is that the re buiding of the old Rhodes Park at 1555 W. Front will pump up the foot traffic in every sense of the word as well as welcome in a new bread of crowd that will revitalize the growing area of the Linen District.
The former park was designed by local skateboarders and avid bmx thrill seekers. After years of use the park that was modeled after many other pro parks in the Northwest is getting a well deserved facelift. With the help of the Albertson's Foundation, and the Boise Skateboard Association, plans for the skate park are to become a safer and more desirable destination for the neighborhoods around Front Street as well as provide a much needed outlet for kids and adults to practice and perfect the most knarley front side ollie's. :)
