Walmart Pulls Displays Showcasing Guns and Ammunition
I'm actually more surprised this is happening now and not previously when mass shootings were destroying lives. We saw the fight between the communities, the government, and the NRA.
This is something different. Walmart is not pulling guns or ammunition. You can still walk in and purchase a firearm. You won't see it displayed. Want to purchase today you will need to ask an associate.
So, what's this about? Walmart currently sells ammunition and firearms at half of its 4,700 U.S. stores right now. The popular get anything at any time store and home of the "Rollback" prices made this announcement on Thursday.
We have seen some isolated civil unrest and as we have done on several occasions over the last few years, we have moved our firearms and ammunition off the sales floor as a precaution for the safety of our associates and customers.
That comes from Walmart spokesman Kory Lundberg. Walmart is actually one of the few stores besides Cabela's and Sportsman's Warehouse that still sell firearms. If you remember Dick's Sporting Goods pulled guns from all stores back in March of last year. They also pulled assault weapons that year prior to the Parkland shootings.
Could we see Walmart go completely dark on weapons and stop selling? Well, I guess it depends on the feedback. You can still purchase weapons and ammunition. Ask someone first and keep an eye on this space.
Walmart is concerned with the election coming up and previous issues that it's not going to showcase those items.
Let's see how long this lasts. Walmart currently has over a dozen in the Treasure Valley.
