Idaho is popularly known for potatoes, but what we should really be known and recognized for is our amazing ski resorts! There are actually a total of 18 in the Gem State. Sun Valley was recently honored as SKI Magazine's best in the west. Another Idaho ski resort is now being nationally recognized by USA Today.

Brundage Ski Resort in McCall ranks second on the "2020 10-Best Reader's Choice Contest for Best Ski Resort." This is a very telling honor considering the nomination process. Finalists were nominated by industry experts and ultimately determined by popular vote amongst readers. Brundage, a locally-owned resort was up against some much larger and better-known industry leaders.

Sunshine Valley in Canada ranked as number one. Other finalists also included Copper Mountain, Kirkwood, Telluride, and Lake Louise Mountain Resorts. "The nature of this contest makes this award especially heart-warming," resort spokesperson, April Whitney told KTVB.

Brundage plans to open next week on November 27th. Of course there are some new coronavirus protocol to be aware of if you plan on hitting the slopes at the second best ski resort according to USA Today and it's readers.

The resort's website states that lift mazes have been re-designed to better promote social distancing. Empty “ghost” lanes will be opened up to allow for spacing between lanes. Face coverings are required in all lift mazes and all lift lines until after loading the lift. They will also be required to enter all lodge facilities. Brundage is following the industry suggestion of “Drive Together, Ride Together” when it comes to the chairlifts meaning that guests will not be paired with other guests who are not in their group.
