You can't stop Idahoans from gathering to celebrate an event with the word potato in it. You might not have even known about a Potato Festival. Well, there is one and it's happening in Nampa this Saturday, August 15.

The Idaho Potato Festival is a celebration around the obvious, potatoes. I was reading on their website and it say's, "Peel it. Mash it. Bake it. Fry it." It's four days circled around these famous Idaho Potatoes.

The Hot Potato Festival begins starts at 6 p.m. with Rider and Rolling Thunder from Boise who will kick-off live performances. There is a Peel and Eat Potato Contest, Super Spud Potato Decorating Contest, Mama's Little Piggy Mashed Potato Eating Contest and the list goes on.

Are kids welcome? This is a family event with a special Kid Zone that includes some mini-golf and coloring contests. This is all about the family and great opportunity for you to visit Indian Creek Plaza and see everything it has to offer.

COVID-19 Update: Ada County has rolled back to the 10 person event and that doesn't impact Nampa.

Check out some of these food trucks hosting the event.

  • Rustic Oven Pizza - Special Spud Pizza
