A mountain lion was spotted in a Boise neighborhood yesterday near South Intercon Way and Grand Forest Drive.

Police ask residents to be aware of their surroundings, and not try to feed, pet or catch ANY wild animals. I hope it goes without saying, but keep a close eye on small children and pets, especially during hours when mountain lions are most active like dawn and dusk.

You should not run if you come across a mountain lion either. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game say to face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger by waving your arms, and throw rocks or anything else you can. If a child is with you, pick them up.

Anyone who spots a mountain lion in city limits is asked to call police immediately.
