Idaho Is a Lazy State? This Will Make You Mad.
How can they say we're lazy?
The Treasure Valley is into fitness and we're active on the greenbelt, we're health-conscious eaters, and we're pretty amazing at balancing kids and work and relationships with one hand tied behind our backs. Is Idaho really one of the laziest states?
Zippia says Idaho is in the Top 10 in the country for laziness, because we rank high using these measuring sticks:
Lowest average hours worked
Shortest commute time
Fewest workers per household
Highest unemployment rate
Fewest adults with a college degree
Idaho is number 9 on the list of the Top 10 Laziest States. But states including Kentucky, New Mexico, and Oregon are lazier than we are, according to Zippia. So there's that.
Maybe they should pay Idaho a visit and look around instead of crunching numbers from behind a computer screen. One look at the Boise Greenbelt on an 80-degree Saturday afternoon says we're active, and not sittin' around on the couch all day. And we've got those goal-conquering Boise State students, and skiers and boarders galore.
When it comes to the number of hours we work, maybe it's lower in Idaho because we value quality of life in these parts. And in that case, it's okay to be a little lazy!
