Gas Station On State Street Robbed, Police Arrest Suspect
Ok now, this one is pretty freaky. I go to this gas station just about every morning, and I'm not the only one who makes this part of their daily routine. The Garden City Police Department have arrested the man responsible.
Early this morning around 2:41 a.m. the Maverick Gas Station at 8561 W. State Street was robbed by Johnathan Grant Yearsley. Police confirmed the arrest as the man was apprehending at his home today. At the time of the robbery Monday morning he was driving his white 1999/2000 Chevy Suburban, and was wearing khaki shorts a dark blueish black hat and a blue button up type shirt.
Thanks to the surveillance camera photos that have been passed around social media and the outpouring of tips from the public the arrest was made. Yearsley was caring a gun at the time of the robbery and had made threats to continuing his early morning activities by robbing the Chevron Gas Station in Horseshoe Bend. He was captured before another crime could be committed. He is currently booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of battery (aggravated) as well as burglary as well as one count of leaving the scene of an earlier accident in the evening. Job well-done everyone, remember if you see something if something feels off to call the authorities.
