It's the one thing that people love about living in Idaho and that's the crime. My dad would read me the headlines in the paper growing up in Texas. It scared me and that is the point.

Thursday in Caldwell a man walked into a gas station, pulled out a gun, and then got away with cash. The police are currently asking for your help.

I just wrote about Nick Johnson who made a very funny video entitled, "Unboxing Idaho." It's a very creative way of introducing the state of Idaho city by city and myth upon myth. Crime is one of those things that we love about living here until we read things like robberies. There is a man on the loose in Caldwell after robbing a gas station.

The suspect walked into Jackson's Gas Statio in Caldwell Thursday morning around 4:45 a.m. and pulled out a gun on the gas station clerk. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and is currently on the loose.

Here's what I know from Caldwell Police Lt. Joey Hoadley who spoke with KTVB this morning.

  • The robbery happened at 4:45 a.m.
  • Jacksons on Montana Avenue and Walnut Street
  • The suspect appeared to Hispanic around 20 years old
  • A weapon was used but no shots fired

You never know how you would be impacted in a situation like this until it happens. The good thing is that nobody was hurt and it was just money that was lost.

Contact the Caldwell Police Department if you have any information regarding the robbery or suspect.
