Elderly Woman Hit and Killed Crossing Myrtle

My heart breaks for everyone involved in this horrible accident. A 72-year-old woman is dead and the 30-year-old woman behind the wheel of the car who hit her is obviously devastated. 

The accident happened at about 6 o'clock last night on Myrtle Street between 2nd Street and Avenue A.

According to an article on KTVB that details the accident, the woman was trying to cross the street when she was hit, but she was not in a crosswalk.

The woman did not immediately succumb to her injuries. She was taken to a local hospital where she ultimately passed away.

The 30-year-old woman behind the wheel of the car has fully cooperated with investigators.

The identity of the victim and the person who hit her have not been released.
