This seems to be an on going saga, what will happen on the site of Ben's Crows Inn. After keeping the restaurant open for close to 70 years the owners are closing it down and a proposed housing project is still up in the air. So the question is now....what is going on ?

According to developers the site could possibly be turned into a new housing project called "Tahoe Homes." DevCo Real Estate Development who owns the rights to Tahoe Homes has already developed two other subdivisions in SE Boise. The ownership group thought is asking the Boise City Council to hurry up and make a decision. They are asking for an approval of 24 lots on the 2.4 acres of land that The Crows Inn now sits on. This story may sound like something you have heard of before, because it is. Last April the Planning and Zoning commission took a vote to grant the land to be developed, but now they are still in a stand still. Hence the re-vote. The council will take up the proposed housing development Tomorrow,  July 12, when the line item is expected to generate a fair amount of public testimony. What ever the vote, I will miss some of the best half shell oysters in the Treasure Valley. - JD
