Bogus Kicks Off 75th Anniversary July 1st With Summer Party
Saturday July 1 Bogus Basin will officially launch its 75th Anniversary Summer Celebration & it promises to be an exciting one with the debut of lots of new attractions that open this year...Here's a guide to what's happening for the kick off:
On July 1st, free live music, featuring DJ Lizzie and nationally known musical artists Pimps of Joytime, will play in the base area amphitheater. The Deerpoint Chairlift (#1) will operate for scenic rides and mountain bike transport from 11:00am – 7:00pm, and the bike shuttle will run from Simplot Lodge to Pioneer Lodge.
The nonprofit area has been buzzing with activity since the winter season ended in April, when construction began on a host of new summer attractions, including a “Fun Zone” with summer tubing, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, and gem panning station….Also new is a bike skills park and mountain bike flow trail.
The new summer developments represent the first phase of Bogus Basin’s year-round master plan. Bringing more people to the mountain in all seasons will reduce its financial dependency on unpredictable winter snowfall.
Construction in the base area will continue through the summer. Other upgrades will include a 12,000 square foot plaza outside Simplot Lodge, outdoor food & beverage outlet, and the highly anticipated Mountain Coaster, which is expected to open sometime in August.
