I want to say that everything is opening for Summer operations but that would be too soon. We're seeing too many businesses struggling to say open due to a lack of employees. Still keeping fingers crossed for our neighbors.

That doesn't seem to be stopping the special events like Western Idaho Fair, 4th of July Celebrations, and concerts which seem to be back. You can add Bogus Basin to the mix with a big Memorial Day Weekend opening.

Bogus Basin is more than just great Alpine skiing, Winter tubing, and some fun Snowshoeing. This is also a Summer recreational destination that maybe you've never visited. Memorial Day Weekend is here and Bogus Basin is open for fun.

Weekend-only summer operations will begin at the area this Saturday, May 29, 2021. Due to unseasonably wet conditions, activities will be limited to the Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, scenic chairlift rides, and gem panning. Food and beverage offerings, featuring the Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse menu, will be available in the ICCU Base Area Plaza.

That was posted in their announcement Thursday. The team also mentioned that as things get warmer over the next few weeks, more activities will be open for Idahoans.

Once seven-day-a-week operations begin on June 19, we'll be in full swing, offering more events and activities than ever before. - General Manager Brad Wilson.

This means that summer tubing and mountain biking will be back shortly. Can you believe it? We might actually have a Summer where our kids can interact. I know mine needs that now.

See you on the coaster!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
