Are These the Greatest Movie Soundtracks Of All Time?
A web site recently put together a list of the vote of the GREATEST film soundtracks ever. While the list is pretty subjective, most of us have a definite favorite or two. Here are a few of my favorites:
Prince at 46th Annual Grammy Awards - Show
- Purple Rain (Introduced me to Prince music, and in my opinion, some of the best stuff he has ever done)
- City of Angels (I can listen to the entire CD, beginning to end)
- Anchorman 2 (Love me some 70's music)
- "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me"
- "Dazed and Confused", which has songs by Foghat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Ted Nugent, Kiss, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple
- "Trainspotting", with music by Iggy Pop, Blur, Brian Eno, New Order, Primal Scream, Pulp and Lou Reed
- "Natural Born Killers", which has Nine Inch Nails, Cowboy Junkies and Leonard Cohen
- "Garden State", which has Coldplay, The Shins, and Iron and Wine
- "The Life Aquatic", which has music by Devo, plus, David Bowie
- "Blade Runner", by the Greek composer Vangelis
- "A Clockwork Orange", which gave new meaning to "Singin' in the Rain" and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
- "Reservoir Dogs", where Tarantino did the same with "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel . . . during the Ear cutting scene. . . and "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede.
- "The Blues Brothers", which includes music by The Blues Brothers, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Cab Calloway.
