If you purchased any organic chocolate blueberries from Costco last week or anytime before then, be extremely careful and avoid eating them completely if you're allergic to almonds. In fact, just throw them away anyway just to be safe.

Last week Torn Ranch issued a manufacturer recall of their product that had been stocked in Costco stores across four states, including Idaho. Consumers are being advised they could have "a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product." This recall was also issued by the Food and Drug Administration.

The Torn Ranch brand stated, "This recall is due to possible undeclared allergen, almonds (tree nuts) present in Torn Ranch Organic Dark Chocolate Blueberries … People with tree nut allergies may have a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product."

In addition to Idaho, The Torn Ranch Organic Dark Chocolate Blueberries that have been contaminated were sold in 18-ounce resealable bags in Costco stores also in  Arkansas, Oregon and Washington.

If you're unsure or not weather the chocolate blueberries in your cabinet are a part of this recall, the company detailed the recalled product as containing the following information: UPC code 036412020169 // Lot code 1271 // Marked Best by 05/07/2022.

The good news so far is that Torn Ranch says they have not received any report of illness to date. However they are recommending "Consumers who have any remaining product should not consume it, but rather return it to place of purchase for a refund." They also urge consumers to contact Torn Ranch LLC's customer care line for any further information.
