The Newest Photo Making People Crazy: Are These Strawberries Red?

It's been two years since that blue-black-white-gold DRESS blew up online.  There have been a lot of confusing "What color is this?" photos that have gone viral since then, and here's the latest. Are the Strawberries in this photo red...Yes or No? Take a second to decide before clicking the read more button.

So..what did you decide? Are you seeing red strawberries or is it an optical illusion?

The correct answer is no.  All reds have allegedly been stripped out of the picture, so it's all different grays and totally lacking of any color except gray.

But the way our brains are wired makes us think they're red, because well, strawberries are red, so we see red, because they're strawberries.  I'm confused.
