First the good news: If you like your Tex-Mex fast food served with a little alcohol, Taco Bell is about to make all your dreams come true. The bad news? Don't expect it to happen here in Idaho any time soon.

In an effort to further brand name recognition, Taco Bell has come up with a new innovation: booze being served at certain Taco Bell locations. According to foodandwine.com about 300 new Taco Bell locations will ditch the drive through and begin offering booze on their menu to those of age.

Unfortunately for those of us who like to booze it up with our Taco Locos or Mexi-Melts here in Idaho, the company probably won't be opening a boozy Taco Bell here any time soon or ever. These 300 new restaurants will be built in mostly larger urban areas like Detroit, Boston, New York and Pittsburgh.

The locations will be known as Cantina style Taco Bells. None of the new locations will have a drive through which is probably a pretty good idea since you don't want anybody drinking and driving.

Alcohol served will include draft beer, bottled beer, sangria and twisted mixed drinks.

The company says they hope to have the new type franchise launched sometime with in the next five years.
