Tuesday's 6.5 magnitude earthquake near Challis rocked our area in a fascinatingly scientific way. We are so grateful that there was not great destruction, death, or injuries, but new information says more quakes could be on the horizon.

According to an article on KTVB, the United States Geological Survey is throwing out a warning to area residents saying,

Be ready for more earthquakes.

I haven't personally felt any aftershocks since Tuesday's quake, but apparently there have been around 300 aftershocks in the Challis, Cascade, and Idaho City areas. Aftershocks are expected to continue over the next week.

The most concerning part is that the U.S. Geological Survey says the quake could be part of a larger sequence and there is a 4% chance of one or more quakes that could be similar of larger to Tuesday's earthquake.

Earthquakes are almost fun to experience when they aren't destructive, but they can be terrifying and devastating, so  we pray that destruction is not on the way.
