I can't be the only person who is terrified of earthquakes. I feel like there is no escape. If you happen to be where an earthquake strikes, you're at the mercy of the ground below you and the structures around you.
I've been lucky not to be around when an earthquake strikes but that's not to say they don't happen right here in our backyard.
An earthquake strikes Idaho over the weekend
A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded roughly 7 miles south of Donnelly over the weekend around 8:03 PM on Saturday (3/11) according to the US Geological Survey. Now, if you're like me and aren't as familiar with earthquakes, you may not know what that feels like.
According to Michigan Tech University, a magnitude range between 2.5 and 5.4 is "often felt, but only causes minor damage."
Interestingly enough, Idaho has already experienced two earthquakes in the month of March alone according to EarthquakeTrack.com: the earthquake over the weekend south of Donnelly and a 2.1 magnitude earthquake in Soda Springs on Wednesday, March 8.
