If you know of a child between the ages of 14-18 who has interest in a career in law enforcement, share with them the coolest summer experience ever!

The Meridian Police Department has announced their "Youth Safety Academy" coming in July! Here's what their Facebook post had to say:

🚨 YOUTH SAFETY ACADEMY 2021!🚨
Do you know a youth between the age of 14-18* that has an interest in law enforcement? Or maybe they are curious about the services MPD provides to the community?
This program is designed to give Meridian youth the opportunity to learn about the police department and gain an understanding of the functions and responsibilities that come with providing law enforcement services in the City of Meridian.
Please visit meridiancity.org/youthacademy for more information and the application.
Deadline for submitting an application is June 7th. Spaces are limited and will fill fast!
*18 year olds must be entering their senior year of high school. Applicants must live or go to school in the City of Meridian.
What a cool experience for teens with interest in law enforcement! Every once in a while when I see someone doing something ridiculous on our Treasure Valley roads, I think to myself... "I wish I could just turn on my lights, pull them over and give them a ticket right now." Well, with a career in law enforcement with the Meridian Police Department, you can do just that. And the great thing is, police will always be a necessary job that won't be given to robots as technology changes!

6 Field Trips That All Boise Kids Went On

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
