Stories like this make my blood boil. It makes me sick to think these helpless kids have been living amongst trash and rotten food.

According to an article on KTVB that details the crime, 31-year-old Joanna Griswold and 34-year-old Christopher Griswold are facing felony charges of injury to a child after their three children, ages 12, 8, and 5 months were found to be living amongst filth that included expired food, a strong mildew smell, and garbage.

Meridian Police investigated after being tipped off by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare who received a referral.

The home in question is located on Lava Street in Meridian and once inside police had a hard time finding a clear path to walk through. The house was filled with dirty diapers, dirty dishes, unwashed baby bottles, and metal pieces. The home was so bad that police say the children were in imminent danger and they have been taken into state custody.

The Griswold's have been booked into the Ada County Jail and if convicted they face up to 10-years in prison.

I don't know what's going on here, but I do know that we you decide to have children it is your responsibility to take care of them and I'm sorry that these kids had to live in such horrific conditions. It's my hope that the parents will get help and that all of them have a better future ahead of them.
