The flu has hit Idaho kids hard this year. We just told you about a 13-year-old girl from eastern Idaho who succumbed to the flu and it now looks like a couple other cases have proven to be deadly.

First and foremost I want to state that I don't know if these kids received flu vaccinations or not. I do know that there are several strains of the flu and although I choose to vaccinate, I don't know how these kids contracted the flu and I'm not here to judge.

No matter how you look at things, the fact that this has killed kids is tragic.

13-year-old Lilly Clark of eastern Idaho passed away just 4-days shy of her 14th birthday. Now, idahonews.com says a child in northern Idaho has passed away from flu related symptoms and the death of a second child in eastern Idaho is being investigated, but initially it appears the child died from influenza.

For some reason, this flu strain seems to be impacting children. Again, I'm not saying any of these families did anything wrong, but knowledge is power, and knowing that this strain is affecting our kids, lets be extra thorough at hand washing and keeping kids home if they are sick. I'm sure we all want to do everything possible to keep our kids safe and healthy.

Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.
