Idaho Chefs Are Now Finalists For Prestigious James Beard Award

Two Idaho chefs are among the top five finalists for the prestigious James Beard Award. The award celebrates the best of the best in the food industry and according to the official site of the James Beard Foundation, it's not just chefs being recognized. The awards also have categories for restaurants and leaders in the industry.

Idaho has two chefs up to take home the James Beard Award for the "Mountain" region which consists of:

• Colorado
• Idaho
• Montana
• Utah
• Wyoming

Montana is the only state not represented at the James Beard Awards for Best Chef.

Chef Salvador Alamilla from AMANO in Caldwell and Kris Komori from KIN in Boise are among the finalists for Best Chef. Idaho is well-represented as both chef's restaurants are absolutely delicious.
