Watch Out! There Are 4 Deadly Gangs Lurking In Utah
When you think of the state of Utah, you probably imagine majestic mountains and beautiful scenery. Not a lot of people would think of Utah as being a battleground for some of the most deadly gangs in the world... but it is.
What's scary is how close in proximity Utah is to Idaho's major cities which could draw the attention of some of these gangs.
How safe is Utah... really?
According to Neighborhood Scout, Utah is actually one of the safer states in the entire country with your chances of becoming a victim of violent crime being just 1 in 414.
The violent crime rate per 1,000 residents is just 2.42 compared to the national average of 4.
That being said, there is still some gang activity happening in Utah. According to a Utah Gang Assessment Report from the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, between 17.1% and 18.7% of prisoners in the Department of Corrections were identified "as being affiliated with an organized gang."
It's important to remember that there are an estimated 33,000+ gangs in the U.S. and more than a million gang members across the country according to World Population Review.
Using data from the sources above, we determined the top four gangs that are the most active in the state.
