I hate weeds. I've been spraying and pulling dandelions all week and cursing at my clover, but I stumbled upon something this morning that made me think differently about weeds.

I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw Chateau Des Fleurs (the glamorous wedding venue in Eagle) post about dandelion tea? Say what?! Am I the only one who has never heard of this? Turns out you can make tea out of the yellow part of dandelions as long as you haven't sprayed them and you don't have animals disposing of their waste on them! You can also make dandelion wine, but let's stick to the tea for now.

Here's a recipe you can try from wellnessmama.com for "Iced Lime Dandelion Tea." As I dug further, I found out you can boil the leaves and use them like spinach and you can roast the taproot and use it as a coffee substitute!

TheSpruce.com says you can also put clover leaves and flowers in salads and like the dandelion, they can also be made into tea! I have a new found respect for the weeds in my yard for sure. Now, if I could only stop my dog from peeing on them!
