Hazardous Trees to Be Removed at Bogus Basin
Deceased and infested trees that are hazardous to skiers and snowboarders will be removed.
Tree removal is expected to start next week. There will be some closures to the areas that they will be removing trees but signs will be clearly posted. Crews will start on the north portion of the ski area near the Superior chairlift. . Logging trucks will haul logs down Bogus Basin Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. with a maximum of five loads a day so a heads up to be extra cautious on that road if traveling it during that time.
The wood from the trees is suppose to be sold as firewood, according to the press release : This sale was made possible because of the Good Neighbor Authority (GNA).
