Most vacations you can find me fly fishing, no different on this one. After a trip to Denver and New Mexico I decided to fly fish near the Idaho/Montana border.

It was a skeptical trip and suspect due to weather and road closures but I made it and was able to fish. The area of western Montana and that Idaho border has dealt with a lot of snow along with very cold temperatures, a combo that hasn't been that rough together for a while. I wasn't sure if we would even be able to find open water.

With feet and feet of snow hiking was tough  but we did find open water, near the Montana and Idaho border is the Bitterroot River and the east and the west fork, the East Fork did have some open water but not much, the more north you went the better.
