Fishing Part of the Clearwater River in Idaho For My First Time
There are so many places I want to explore in Idaho and so much water to be fished. This time I headed north to the Clearwater River and a wild section I have never fished.
This can be a bit of a drive, lots of dirt roads and curvy roads. The Clearwater River itself is huge and there are sections where it's way too massive to wade fish so this time we had to find a section that was wadable and had fish.
This section is east of Lewistown and can hold bull trout, whitefish, Kokanee Salmon and Bull Trout. I was on the hunt mainly for bigger fish. So I was streamer fishing all day but the dry fly action was producing so when I got tired of trying to pull the bigger fish out of their hiding spots dry flying gave me the tug. This was such a wonderful spot to spend some time and now that I know about it I will be taking trips here for a long time.
