Found a house that's GORGEOUS for sale, but's it's a corner house off of Ustick. Am I right to be apprehensive because of the risk of dogs getting out? Or even kids? What other dangers come with a corner house off of a major street?

Full disclosure: I don't actually have kids yet, but I hope to in the next couple of years. My fiance and I are looking for a house and though we haven't gone though the steps (meeting with a Realtor, getting pre-approved, etc), we have had some fun driving around the Treasure Valley looking at homes.

One we really like is a corner house off of Ustick, which means the other side of our fence would be a sidewalk and then Ustick. Arguably, I guess I'd rather be off of Ustick than Fairview or Eagle for example. But I just have this concern that my dogs will bolt out the door (which they've literally never done) and run out on Ustick and that'll be the end of it.

But would you give up the possibility of the (otherwise) perfect house because of this? What are the other potential dangers of living in a corner house off of a major street like this?
