I think one of the coolest hidden gems in the west is located right here in our back yard...Shoshone Falls. And with all the snow we've received this year it should be pretty spectacular when show melt hits in a few months, but this week It's already amazing because of the snow melt and rain...Don't believe me...check out the live cam below or take a trip to see it this weekend.

Every so often, the Niagara Falls of the west, as Shoshone Falls is known puts on an amazing spring show when spring runoff hits and I think this year might be extra amazing because of the amount of show we've received this winter.

Usually this time of year, all you get to see is a trickle of water over the falls, but because of recent warm weather, it's already rolling, especially for this time of year.  The peak power of the falls usually doesn't come until late May and into June.....but it is really rolling right now because of all the rain and snow melt from the mountains.   Click on the link below and you can see a live cam view of what's happening 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Then grab the family and head to Twin Falls.  It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive, so it's a pretty easy day trip.
