It's easy to say, FitOne, benefits St. Luke's Children's Hospital. But there is so much more to it when you sign up for the event on September 26th. Let me show you where your money goes and who you're helping.

When I first moved to Boise I was a volunteer in the children's playroom at St. Luke's Children's Hospital. I got to see first hand what these kids go through, the stress the parents deal with having a sick child and the confusion siblings feel dealing with such a heavy issue.

Mike and I dress up as elves and deliver the toys your so kindly donate to kids who have to spend the holidays in the hospital. We also had the pure joy of getting to know, Garrett Schram, who in his short time on this planet was able to start a campaign to have a teen room built at St. Luke's. He was fighting for his life while at the same time fighting for a special place for teens to go within the hospital.

St. Luke's Children's Hospital is non-for-profit meaning that they provide the highest quality health care service available, regardless of your child's condition or their family's ability to pay.

I hope you never have to set foot into St. Luke's Children's Hospital with your child but it's comforting to know the only children's hospital in Idaho is right here in the Treasure Valley. From neonatal-Perinatal medicine to the St. Luke's Children's Hospital School, they have it all covered.

This is why we run or walk in the FitOne event. The money goes to the kids. Hopefully this helps you understand who you're helping and motivates your to sign up. You only have until Sunday to join the Mix 106 12 Listeners Team.
