Kate is a seventeen-year radio veteran and a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She got her start in radio at KCSU in Fort Collins, Colorado, and moved to Idaho in 2001 to team up with Mike Kasper on Citadel Broadcasting’s Magic 93.1 (KZMG) in Boise. A couple of year’s later, Kate and Mike “moved across town” to Mix 106 (KCIX) and established themselves as the top morning show in the market since 2002, winning several ISBA and Best of the Treasure Valley awards. Kate’s been instrumental in making Mix 106 one of the most listener-interactive stations in the market. She created “Kate University” in 2006, hosting a monthly class for adults who are looking to try new things—from knitting, cooking and crafts to skydiving, snowboarding, scuba diving and fitness activities with future classes planned for helping teenage girls develop confidence doing a variety of things. Kate also makes monthly visits to schools throughout the area with the Treasure Valley Speakers Forum to talk with kids about radio and how to become a successful, functional person in the community.
