A friend of mine was moving and had to get rid of his boat and now I have a boat! I know the spring feels like a long way away but I'm summer dreaming. Where's the best boating nearby?

Obviously Lucky Peak lake is the first thing that comes to mind but I haven't gone boating in a long time and I definitely haven't since moving to Idaho. Lake Lowell seems close and convenient but also that they would be pretty packed in the summertime. Or is every lake packed? And then there's Cascade Lake. We were up there for our honeymoon at Tamarack and in the wintertime it's all snow but I bet it's pretty amazing out there when the sun is shining. But does it ever get warm enough?

Looking for some guidance from some real Treasure Valley boaters as to where I should go my first time out. I think I'll get the boat out and do some practice cruising before it gets too warm because I don't feel like pissing off the real boaters when I take three hours to get the boat in and out of the water.

Now I have a real reason to get excited for the summer. It'll be my second summer living here and I cannot wait to get out and do some things. I'm still mildly disappointed in myself for not floating the river last summer but I won't make that mistake again!

Ok, I'll face the fact that it's still January and we've got a ways to go but in the mean time, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
