I have a 2010 Nissan Altima that came into my life in 2012. I named her Amelia and she's been a tried and true little vehicle that could for the last 8 years. We put her through a lot. My boys especially roughed her up with crumbs, dirt, sweat, pee, puke, spit (boys are gross). Her exterior faced some hard times, too. Fender benders and hopped curbs. And of course the normal wear and tear under the hood. She's getting older by the minute. So it is finally time to add a new car to the family.

I'm looking for an SUV, maybe in the crossover category. You know, a mom car that isn't totally lame when the kids aren't in it. I'm not necessarily looking for a brand new car. So long as it's in good condition with low mileage, I'm down. As far as features go, I'm pretty easy. Obviously power windows and locks, and a radio/cd player/blue tooth syncing situation in the dash. That's all generally standard in all vehicles these days, right?

Really the issue now is finding a place to buy this car. I've never purchased one on my own, so I'm not entirely sure where to start. I want to go somewhere local that won't try and bamboozle me and charge me something crazy. I get that people need to make their money, but I don't want to be taken advantage of. I like to believe honest dealerships exist.

So I turn to you, Treasure Valley locals. Where did you buy your car? Or where should I NOT buy my car? I appreciate all the help as this is a big decision and potentially stressful process. Help out your girl!
