As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers! I love the spring time because of all of the fresh new life the season brings. Beautiful flowers are in full bloom right now all around Boise and my heart is so happy.

I've actually been really into keeping my apartment full of fresh flowers lately. Similar to other green plants, there are many benefits of keeping fresh flowers in your home. Having flowers around you actually can reduce stress, increase creativity, and even brighten up your mood.

I don't have a garden of my own to pick flowers from but luckily there are a handful of lovely flower farms around the Treasure Valley.

Lovely Hallow Farm outside of Caldwell is a local favorite but doesn't open until July. Learning Barn Farms and Mason Creek Farm are two other local U-Pick flower farms in the Treasure Valley that both open the gardens up in June. All three are must go-to's during the summertime.

But if you can't wait until then to start collecting fresh flowers there is another option. Dream Flower Farms, located in the heart of Boise, has a series of floral workshops that are offered throughout the year. During these workshops you'll actually learn tips and tricks for arranging the most gorgeous blooms. The next one is happening on Saturday June 5th and it's a "Peony party!"

"Come join us as we show you how to create a lush, overflowing arrangement complete with peonies, accent flowers and foliage, in a beautiful vessel for you to take home," says Dream Flower Farms.
