Middle school me is dying a little inside after learning that Abercrombie & Fitch has closed it's doors for good in Boise Town Square. Since the early 2000's Abercrombie & Fitch has been in business in Boise providing trendy fashion for teens. At one point in time you could walk down the hall of any high school in America and see the brand's name written across a kid's chest.

It was announced in December of last year that the company would close many of its largest “flagship” stores, according to Business Journals. These closures were planned before COVID hit however not to say that the pandemic didn't help the financials of the business at all. In addition to closing four of its biggest flagship stores, the company also said its closing 850 smaller stores, such as the Boise location by the end of 2021.

The company did start seeing a boost in digital sales at the end of 2020 which is promising for a push to focus business more online in the coming years. These stores were truly an experience in themselves though.  As soon as you walked in to Abercrombie & Fitch you were hit with the strongest smell of cologne. The music was a soundtrack straight out of a teen indie film. Inside the lighting was so dim you thought you were buying a blue shirt until you got home and saw it was actually yellow!

Personally, I haven't shopped there since 2011 but I mean I guess that is why the store is closing...
