What Stores Are Most Likely To Close Next At Boise Towne Square?
It's been a rough start to 2025 at Boise Town Square. It seems like every week, we hear of another closure. How safe are the stores that are still there? We did the research on the remaining stores to determine the stores that are most likely to survive and even thrive in 2025 and the retailers that are least likely to make it through the rest of the year.

Overall, the retail industry isn't in a very good spot. With online shopping becoming so popular, the brick-and-mortar, physical locations become more expensive than they're worth. The cost of paying rent, utilities, and employees isn't cost-effective when most of the sales come from their websites or apps, and the product can be delivered the next day in some cases.
These trends have led many national businesses to "right-size" their local presence, and 2025 is likely going to see the most retail closures ever. Coresight Research says that up to 15,000 stores will close in 2025. That's scary for employees and mall owners everywhere. If people aren't coming to the mall to shop, why would they come at all?
Boise Town Square is already doing some things other struggling malls nationwide have done. They have brought indoor gaming centers, VR experiences, and escape rooms. Others have brought in aquariums, art installations, movie theaters, indoor sports facilities, or even created concert venues.
Some mall owners have leased or even created residential units, office spaces, medical facilities, colleges, hotels, or co-working spaces.
It's hard to know what Boise Town Square will look like in ten years, especially when we don't even know what it will look like before the end of 2025.
