Summer Job Alert: City of Boise Hiring Lifeguards
Are you looking to get some gnarly tan lines this summer while also potentially saving some lives? The City of Boise is looking to hire and has an open lifeguard position for this summer.
The job is open to those age 16 and older who have two or more years' experience as a certified lifeguard. Applications also must be properly certified and must be able to provide a CPR, AED and First Aid certification when applying.
The job pays pretty well for a summer job too at $12 an hour and lasts for four months. Applicants must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer. I always thought it would be so cool to be a lifeguard - except I had absolutely zero training or experience.
The job positing comes just a few days after the City of Boise announced that they will be opening Borah Pool, Fairmont Pool, Ivywild Pool and the Natatorium Pool & Hydrotube for this 2021 season. Swimmers can expect things to operate differently this year though. For starters, $15 pool season passes must be purchased in advance. This pass can be used at all four pools. Swimmers are also required to make reservations in advance as walk-ups will not be available. Pools will operate at limited capacity and masks are required upon entry and exit.
There has been no further announcement made at this time about any opening date, however applications for the lifeguard position must be submitted to the City of Boise no later than 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 15th.
