Snow Shoe Under the Stars to Help Kids
Whether you think it was trolls or just a stroke of good luck that dropped inches of snow at Bogus Basin this past week, you've got to take advantage of the fresh powder for an amazing cause!
A few gals from my running club were just talking about wanting to get some more snowshoeing in before the season was over, but were a little discouraged by the snow conditions on the mountain. Luckily, Old Man Winter gifted the mountain the past weekend, just in time for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's "Starlight Snow Shoe Benefit."
This year, the annual event takes place on Saturday, March 3 beginning at 4 p.m. at Bogus Basin. Guests are welcome to come up the mountain to experience what it's like snowshoeing under the stars on a beautiful lit path, live music, food, drinks and incredible raffle. Your $16 adult admission fee (or $11 child admission or $53 family admission) benefits the JDRF's mission of funding research for a cure, better treatments and prevention methods for Type 1 diabetes. It gets you access to snowshoes (because let's be honest, not many of us have a pair of them just hanging out in the garage,) a delicious dinner buffet and entertainment.
In it's 13th year, the event is put on with some help from JDRF's friends at Greenwood's Ski Haus, Gray Idaho Real Estate and Atlas Snowshoes.
