Newbie to Boise: First Time Playing in the Boise River

I was trying to think if I had actually been in the Boise River since my arrival in the Treasure Valley and the answer was no.

I am not yet fishing the river but wanted to go check it out. I tend to fish less in the summer but since I am new to the area I will have to do some fishing this summer here soon. We went down to the famous Barber Park and took a step in. There were a lot of people putting in tubes, rafts, canoes and etc.

When I stepped in, it was cold! It was a lot colder then I expected and I was surprised people were in tubes already. What a fun place to live. I will be spending sometime on the water in Idaho so any suggestions or tips, please let me know.
