Nampa Starts School Week Late and Online ONLY – Will Others Follow?
The Nampa School Board had a virtual meeting last night (Thur) to discuss safety concerns and how to open schools. The outcome of the meeting is that schools will start a week later than originally scheduled and they will be all online. The new school year will now start on August 24th.
Students will be outfitted with the appropriate technology, if not already owned, and 100% of the learning will be online. Every two weeks the board will reassess the community COVID-19 numbers and if the numbers drop low enough they will transition to in classroom learning. This will continue every two weeks until they are more confident with returning students to full in person learning which will have its own level of rules and safety persuasions including all students wearing a mask and not gathering together.
