I heard a rumor that your music interests peak in your teenage years and I haven’t been the same since. Suddenly it makes so much sense why Panic! At the Disco and all that emo, moody pop rock from the early 2000’s still moves me.

It also makes sense why as I get older, I feel like I’m turning into my parents when hearing new music and thinking “ugh, they don’t make music like they used to.” But honestly, was the angsty music of bands like Sum 41, Yellowcard and New Found Glory really all that, or was it just my out of control hormones and emotions at that age that will forever have me attached to them?

Music styles and trends come and go, but maybe it’s not the younger (or older) generations music was bad at all, but instead we don’t connect to them the same way as we once did. Anyways, now I’m in my 30s and it’s 9pm, so time for folding laundry and getting to bed. What songs and bands from your teenage years still hit you to the core?
